Banning overdraft fee’s for ATM & Debit Cards!
In July 2010 if the law passes Banks will not be allowed to charge overdraft fee’s on ATM and Debit cards unless each consumer Opts In to the fee. In the past banks would automatically approve the transaction and charge a hefty fee to the consumer. This was another avenue banks took to add to profits. In July consumers will have to approve the overdraft fee by taking the Opt In option. If consumers deny the overdraft fee they will also be denied the funds. Bank accounts will go back to the old days where what you had was what you could get!
